That's where we step in.
We buy those trucks. Everything we stock is either brand new or a quality-checked return — returns are about 10–15% of our inventory, and every one of them gets inspected or tested before it hits the floor. Then we sell it all to our community in Christiansburg at 40–60% off retail.

We're Aaron and Katie Richards, and we opened The Valley Overstock in 2023 right after our first kid was on the way. We were doing what new parents do — trying to stretch the household budget without giving up on the things that made our home feel like home. Around the same time, we learned how much perfectly good overstock big retailers send straight to landfills. We figured Christiansburg deserved a better option.
So we built one. We curate everything that hits our floor, organize the bins so you don't have to dig, and price it all so you can actually afford to furnish your home, clothe your kids, and stock your kitchen. We're not a franchise. We're not a clearance dump. We're a family business in Christiansburg, and we're proud of what we've built here.
